How we review

We distinguish facts we've checked, information stated by providers or operators, and our own editorial judgement. For changing information, we identify what we checked and when. A page update does not mean every claim has been checked again.
We also explain where the answer depends on the operator, game configuration or jurisdiction, and what we haven't established.

Three types of information

These categories show what each statement is based on.

Verified facts

We check factual claims against sources suited to the claim. If the answer varies by jurisdiction, operator or configuration, we state that limit alongside it.

Operator or provider information

When we rely on information supplied by an operator or provider, we say who supplied it and whether we checked it independently.

Editorial assessment

Editorial assessment is our judgement based on the available evidence. We explain the reasoning and its limits.

What we check and date

Freshness labels on SlotsUnpacked describe the specific thing that was checked. A dated offer check, UKGC status check or editorial review does not mean every fact on the page was reverified at the same time.

UKGC status checked

When we say an operator’s UKGC status was checked, the date refers to that regulatory status check. It does not mean every other fact about the operator was reverified on the same date.

Offer checked

When an offer is shown, we record when that specific offer was checked against its source. Offers and significant terms can change independently of the wider operator review.

Review updated

Review updated means the editorial content was reviewed or revised. It does not claim that every changing fact, offer or regulatory detail was checked on that date.

When information can change

Some slot, operator and offer information can change over time or differ by jurisdiction, operator or configuration. Where that matters, SlotsUnpacked states the limitation rather than presenting one value as universally current.

Game specifications can vary

Provider information may describe a global game specification, but RTP, features or configurations can differ by market or operator. We distinguish the provider specification from Great Britain availability and operator implementation where that difference is material.

A provider partnership does not confirm a game's availability

A provider working with an operator does not prove that every game from that provider is available there. Game and provider availability should be verified at the level needed for the claim.

Changing facts are not treated as permanent

Offers, regulatory status, game availability and other changing information are checked and dated where relevant. Older observations may be retained when they help show how a fact has changed over time.

How commercial relationships are handled

SlotsUnpacked currently provides editorial guides without affiliate links. If we introduce affiliate links, we will label them clearly and explain that we may receive a commission when a referral meets the programme’s conditions. Commercial relationships will not determine our factual findings or editorial conclusions.

Editorial judgement stays separate

Affiliate payout does not determine whether an operator is suitable for a user or whether a factual claim is presented as true. Recommendations should be supported by the available evidence.

Recommendations should stand on their own

A recommendation should still be useful if the affiliate link is removed. We make material limitations clear, including those that affect an editorial conclusion.

Commercial links should be accurate

Affiliate buttons should describe where the user is actually being sent. We do not imply that a link opens a specific game, offer or page when the approved destination is more general.
